Scenes from Famous World Operas
Ever seeking challenges in creating art,
Mr. Schuyler
explored the possibilities of rendering in graphite pencil.
Discovering refinements not previously explored,
and being
very fond of opera, he sought to produce
scenes from famous
operas that would include
many types of surfaces: Human features,
crisp, white linen,
fur, deep, dark recesses, highlighted areas – as many
different
surfaces as he could combine in varied scenes.
When he was finished he felt he had taken graphite
pencil rendering to its ultimate complexity and excellence.
